There are many resources for PhD students who are teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level. One established resource is the Graduate Student Reaching Association (GSTA) of the APA Division 2: The Society for the Teaching of Psychology. The Graduate Center, CUNY serves as GSTA’s current host institution and therefore we are at the center of this amazing initiative. We are especially lucky because two Ed Psych Phd Students (Elizabeth Che and Jessica Brodsky) serve as GSTA co-chairs!
The GSTA website has MANY resources that can help you to promote teaching effectiveness. Visit the site to learn more about the GSTA blog, Facebook Group, and Pedagogy Day. Follow the GSTA on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/gradsteachpsych
The Society for the Teaching of Psychology (STP) website also has an abundance of Resources for Teachings of Psychology. Check out the resources page to learn more about advising materials, lab manuals, classroom activities and MORE.
STP also provides access to syllabi for a wide range of psychology topics through Project Syllabus. Visit the site to download material now!
Most importantly, BECOME A MEMBER OF of the STP to take part in a great community of teachers. Membership is only $15! To learn more and become a member, click here.
